The Question
How can jewellery design methods extend beyond personal adornment to shape luxury product identity?
Commissioned by Masihzad, a luxury fashion and fragrance brand, this project explored how the visual language of fine jewellery could be translated into the design of an exclusive perfume bottle cap. Rather than treating the cap as a decorative accessory, the objective was to create a sculptural object that communicated the brand’s identity through material, proportion, and craftsmanship.
Searching for Form
The project began with the reinterpretation of the brand’s emblem into a three-dimensional form using digital jewellery design workflows. A silver prototype was produced to evaluate scale, structural integrity, and visual balance before being presented to the client.
Material Translation
Jewellery design principles — including precision modelling, sculptural detailing, and precious metal fabrication — were applied to an object outside the traditional field of jewellery. The resulting prototype demonstrates how craftsmanship can reinforce the perceived value and narrative of luxury products.
Reflection
This project investigated the extension of jewellery methodology into adjacent domains of luxury object-making. It asked whether the values of precision, material presence, and crafted detail that define fine jewellery can meaningfully shape brand identity beyond the body.
Documentation
The project is documented through brand identity references, digital modelling, resin prototyping, and the finished silver prototype.
